Certain words, when entered into a post, will be automatically filtered into a set of corresponding alternate words upon post submission. The full list of words is not officially known other than to board administrators Bad Candy Mark and Bad Candy Ben. However, the two most widely know are the word ‘French’ (which converts to 'Freedom') and the word ‘Cunt’ (converting to VenusEnvy). The persona and public face of this filtering process has been taken up by the ever-popular alt Mr. Filter.

Other current filters:

• Herp (as in, herpes) becomes Burp
• www.somethingawful.com becomes www.disney.com

Old, non-existant filters:

• One conversion cycled out was the converting of the word fag to fancy-lad
• Cows converts to penguins
• Connecticut converts to montana
